We're on the hunt for a Finance & Payroll Executive who's part payroll pro, part finance support superstar, and fully committed to accuracy, integrity and keeping things running like clockwork behind the scenes.
🧭 What You'll Be Doing:
- Owning the end-to-end fortnightly payroll process for 150–170 employees across the Haka House network.
- Ensuring full compliance with PAYE, income tax, KiwiSaver and all applicable NZ legislation.
- Working closely with our People & Capability team to onboard new starters accurately and on time.
- Managing accounts payable and receivable to support our finance team with timely, accurate reporting.
- Generating payroll reports for managers and ensuring everything lands in the right inbox at the right time.
- Liaising with IRD, ACC, WINZ and other government departments as needed.
- Supporting the rollout of our new systems including Ready Workforce, Sun and Future Log.
- Being a key part of a small but dedicated and close knit finance team that genuinely has each other's backs.
🛠 What You'll Bring:
- 2+ years of payroll experience, end to end preferred.
- Solid accounts payable and receivable experience.
- Sound knowledge of NZ payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
- Confidence with payroll systems (Ready Workforce experience a bonus).
- Experience with Sun Systems a plus.
- Sharp attention to detail, you catch errors before they become problems.
- Clear, professional communication skills across all levels of the business.
- Strong reconciliation experience , so you know how to find a discrepancy and fix it fast (think balance sheet recs for invoices v payroll)
- A calm, methodical approach even when deadlines are tight.
- A genuine passion for getting things right.
