IT Manager
Permanent | Full Time | Auckland HQ + Regular Nationwide Travel
Haka House is growing fast — and we’re looking for an experienced, hands‑on IT Manager to lead technology operations across our national network of hostels and corporate sites.
This is a high‑impact role responsible for keeping our systems reliable, secure, and running smoothly across multiple locations. You’ll be the go‑to expert for everything IT, ensuring our teams and guests experience seamless technology every day.
Because we operate a nationwide property network, this role requires regular travel across New Zealand. It will suit someone who thrives in a dynamic, on‑the‑move role and is naturally flexible, adaptable, and comfortable working across varied environments.

🔧 Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day‑to‑day IT operations across all Haka House properties and Auckland HQ
- Ensure systems, networks, Wi‑Fi, applications, and devices remain secure and high‑performing
- Manage cybersecurity controls, patching, access reviews, and incident response
- Own vendor relationships, contracts, SLAs, and escalations
- Deliver IT projects, upgrades, and new‑property onboarding in collaboration with Group IT
- Manage IT budgets and licensing, ensuring efficient and cost‑effective operations
- Serve as the main IT stakeholder for property teams and corporate staff
- Continuously assess and propose improvements to systems, processes, and service standards
🌏 Travel & Flexibility Requirements
This role requires regular travel across New Zealand, often at short notice, to support property needs, projects, and issue resolution.
You’ll need to enjoy:

🖥️ Essential Experience
- IT cluster / multisite experience, preferably across New Zealand
- 3+ years in IT operations or IT management
- Strong understanding of networks, cloud services (M365 / Azure), and hospitality systems (PMS, POS, Wi‑Fi platforms)
- Vendor and SLA management experience
- Solid cybersecurity and compliance awareness
- Excellent communication skills, both technical and non‑technical
🎓 Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field

- Equivalent, proven practical experience managing IT operations across multi‑site environments
